Description for Dancing Poster:

The poster shows a pediment with a neon sign from the 50’s with the letters Dancing, which has been left there until today, even though it is not working anymore. To the artist, it embodies a very positive and abstract historic trace and it is a representative memorial of a certain period in Polish history.

The poster is based on photomontage of the neon and the 400 copies were distributed in various districts of the cities. This art action wanted to incite spontaneous reactions of the people in public, in order to provoke reflections about the past or even dreams about a new opening of the bar. So it animates mnemonic processes and it is an experiment about collective memories.

Description for Postcard serie :

This work is made from photomontages of pictures, taken by the artist in Warsaw and then retouched. Most of them show mural paintings on the facades from the 70’s. In these montages, the concrete walls appear like paper sheets. This material appearance gives them the fragility of memory and this way their relation to the historic dimension of the city is expressed.
