« You don’t have to worry about whether you are doing research or not. You only have to know that what you do has an unforeseen outcome ».
Manon sometimes uses this quotation from George Brecht as a way of summarizing the direction of her work. Expressing herself though painting, drawing and video, exploring the complementarity of these mediums and often combining them. Whether it is a matter of wallpainting, drawing or still video, she works out in a close relationship between them within the exhibition space. As a result of this action in situ, this element of work only exists for a short time. This is accentuated with the material she unses Ink,chalk) recently she has carried out projects using ink directly on the wall drawings forms on it by means of ink killer pen. Ink and ink killer lightly fade out with daylight, from day to day. The uncontrollability of this, is part of the process of creating the work,it continues to evolve after its production. Each time, it is like a short story with a beginning and an end, but always different, sometimes happy sometimes not… In the ornaments she creates she works with flowers, animals, and human representations, often mixed together. These forms only live during the exhibition and die with it.
In contrast with the big ephemeral drawings and painting on the wall the drawings on paper are a possibilitiy to collect new ideas and to create a new language more spontaneous and free. Her drawings are like an imaginary writing mixing line and surface to create an abstract image which mostly evokes a representation from nature…
